Kevin Gatter

Ph.D. Candidate

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). My research encompasses territorial politics, substate nationalism, secessionism, and contentious politics.

Guided by my Puerto Rican roots, my research highlights the experiences of stateless nations and ethnic minorities worldwide. A central objective of my research agenda is to enhance the visibility of members of these groups by incorporating a wide range of individuals’ experiences and perspectives. I am also committed to enhancing the participation of students from other underrepresented groups in academic and research spaces through my teaching and mentorship work.
